Wynne Reynolds    Retroflection: a decade of mixed media explorations

Looking back on three obviously feminist shows, three subliminally feminist shows, three feminine shows and one show about jellyfish.

Travis Vermilye     Conduit

Beneath our feet, all around us, and even within us, mycelial networks—essentially the vascular system of fungi—thread and connect to transport water, nutrients, and chemical signals within and between species of fungi and plants. For me, these microscopic networks are a metaphor for the way all life is connected—connections to each other, and connections between us and nature. I consider this work an ongoing experiment—a laboratory of sorts. It is my personal exploration of these connections and a way of rationalizing ideas and feelings through physical form.
