Ken Peterson   Ceci n’est pas un Visage (This is not a Face)

In this current era of deep fakes and fake news I had an urge to randomly explore portraits of faces (fakes?). Some of these works have political undertones, and others are just weird. The visual arts have many faces. I like to include textural and decorative elements as well as providing the viewer with some entertainment aspects. Money management tip: forget NFT’s, invest in RFT’s (Real Fucking Things)

Mala Setaram-Wolfe    Saraswati

This installation celebrates creative endeavors and personal growth of humans throughout history.

Christine Rose-Curry  Plastic Earth
Plastic Earth (Detail of Columbines), 4’x9’, plastic trash & acrylic paint on canvas, 2023

Plastic tubes of toothpaste, plastic bottles, plastic cups and lids, plastic straws, plastic wrapping and packaging, plastic tabs, plastic forks, plastic bags….Just a small list of items from the seemingly infinite number of plastic products we use everyday. Items that we might touch for mere seconds, just to be tossed out, and left to exist on the planet for centuries. If nature can not decompose plastic, and if humans can’t properly recycle the items, than how long will the earth sustain the millions of tons of plastic trash being dumped onto it every year?  I do not know the answer or the solution, but in an effort to minimize my own contribution to the waste, I started collecting and repurposing cast-off plastic products. Assembling these items into my artwork, I create colorful, textural paintings from our abundant plastic refuse.

Sara-Lou Klein    Tiptoeing Towards Acceptance

In my art, I transform some of my experiences into whimsical stories. From birds & owls to humans, these mixed media scenarios are created to lift the heart. Sometimes, though, my art takes on more serious undertones, such as dealing with the death of loved ones. In this body of work, I use the media of colored pencils, acrylic paint, acrylic pens, and collage material on wood panels and reclaimed wood to explore imaginary worlds as well as to experiment with these various materials.
