Lydia Farrell Wise Mind
In recovery circles, the phrase Wise Mind is used often, describing a state in which one tries to balance the emotional and logical states of mind. I feel like my paintings do that in a way, but instead balancing real life (most all my paintings are started based off of photographs taken in and around Denver) and the unreal. The unreal, or even surreal has multiple definitions for me: political messages, the paranormal, things taken from horror movies, things hinting at Denver’s spooky past.
