I am enamored by otherworldly creatures. My body of work includes 2D and 3D renderings of unique monsters and entities, fed by my pet interests in paleontology and biology. These creatures and the worlds they inhabit stem from a calling I feel to bring magical ideas into my ordinary life, and to let the viewer piece together stories from the images. Recently, I have been thinking much about Catholicism and my own experience having been raised catholic only to attempt to deconstruct. Guilt, fear, and redemption are frequent themes in my work. I will often take direct inspiration from biblical sources and catholic imagery, in an attempt to reimagine and subvert these ideas. My focus is shifted this year toward larger, intricate multi media projects that will be rich in monsters and introspection.
