Painting from landscapes while distorting the natural composition has let me create elemental metaphors which help to illuminate our human condition on inherent and essential levels. Through juxtaposition, adding a surreal quality or sometimes just through combining natural elements, I use landscape painting as a means for actually defining complex human emotions.
There is an undeniable overlap with nature and our own existence and it is in this overlap that the shared elements can be found. It is my goal as an artist to observe and recreate the experiences that I feel and that I undoubtedly share with others.
