Stephen Shugart Here on Earth
In my new art exhibition, Here on Earth, I reflect on our tenuous relationship with nature and technological progress with oil paintings and sculptures. I contrast large oil paintings, drawn from NASA images of orbital sunrises and sunsets from the international space station, with abstract sculptures made from earthbound aspen root, a broken branch, tree bark, exotic wood and paper. In the 21st century, despite the beautiful yet fragile thinning atmosphere, the exhibition examines our experience here on Earth, dwelling in the present moment, wondering what the next day may bring.
Kay Galvan neti, neti (not this, not that)
This body of work is an exploration of mind on the Buddhist path. The paintings explore the appearance and emptiness of phenomena and self.

Navigating Cultural Currents is an installation taking one on a visual journey through the lens of an art educator’s career. Navigating change in culture and aesthetics from Chicago in the early 90s, Columbine, 9/11, COVID and digital distraction as well as increasing censorship in exposing students to varying cultural images.
Katherine Johnson No Beginning / No Ending
All is change now. I’m trying to let go of past losses and let the future come as it will. Just be in the present and see what can be done. See what emerges and be with it.
Now my painting has neither definable new direction nor clear end to what is past. Trying one thing then another. See what is happening and where it might go with acceptance and more acceptance for what it’s trying to tell me.
Faith Williams DyrstenDelicate Cuts
Exploring the connections between plants, pollinators, and what nourishes us.
In this new printmaking series, Faith Williams Dyrsten transforms TetraPak packaging—sourced from both local stores and global travels—into intricate works that reveal the unseen role of pollinators in our food systems. With her signature geometric precision and scientific detail, she invites us to reflect on the origins of what we eat and what we often overlook.
John Horner Artifacts of Abstraction
In this series of mostly paintings I endeavor to explore the tension of the geometric and the organic, the play of symmetry and asymmetry, the play of fields of repeating patterns as is found in Japanese art, I have extended this experiment into other mediums such as aquatints and monotype stencil mix media, and even Bas relief /mix media, perhaps as a foretaste other series to come?

Mark Brasuell One Track Mind
“Körper in Bewegung”
One Track Mind is a bold and visceral new solo exhibition by longtime Denver artist and educator Mark Brasuell. This dynamic collection explores the power of obsession, the body, and color as driving forces behind the act of creation.
At the heart of One Track Mind is a profound investigation into the figurative form—not as a destination, but as a departure point. Brasuell uses the shapes and gestures of the body as the catalyst for sweeping, large-scale abstract paintings. Through this approach, the physical figure dissolves into a terrain of vibrant color, gesture, and emotional resonance.
Color takes center stage in this exhibition—not simply as decoration, but as language. Brasuell’s use of color is raw, expressive, and often deliberately crude in its juxtapositions. Through this bold palette, he explores the emotional and psychological impact of hue, saturation, and layering. Each painting radiates its own energy, evoking sensation as much as interpretation.
The show’s title, One Track Mind, refers to the idea that even a single, recurring thought—an image, a memory, a fixation—can launch a series of works that touch something deeper within us. Brasuell examines how our personal obsessions as artists and people often lead to the most meaningful creative breakthroughs.
Don’t Beat Around the Bush: A Women’s Reproductive Rights Exhibition. Conceived by Lisa Korte
“A Call to Action” Mixed media installation by Bethany Economos
After the Supreme Court’s ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, Lisa Korte felt compelled to engage a group of artists to share outrage through artistic expression. Since the ruling, 12 states have made abortion illegal impacting the level of healthcare provided to women and women’s reproductive freedom.
Featuring 12 artists in a variety of mediums, from painting to sculpture to video, this show will highlight the injustice of denying women their basic rights to have domain over their own bodies. Viewers can expect to be enlightened as well as shocked by the work created by:
Colby Parker Beutel, Christine Rose Curry, Bethany Economos, Tory Harris, Heather Hauptman, Alane Holsteen, Sarah-Lou Klein, Lisa Korte, Wynne Reynolds, Claire Stufflebeam, Janine Thornton, Dara Weyna.
Patrons are asked to make donations to organizations supporting a woman’s right to choose. A portion of all sales will be donated to non-profits supporting reproductive rights for women.
